Source: This DayAgain, in his quest to provide his people with potable water supply and to ensure the sustenance and consolidation of the gains of the reform of the water sector, Dr. Fayemi, has commissioned a new headquarter complex of Ekiti State Water Corporation.The holistic intervention in the water sector commenced during his first tenure. Before the expiration of the term in 2014, his team got an opportunity to reposition the water sector in the state through the Third National Urban Water Sector Reform Project. As a responsive and responsible government, the administration put in everything required to ensure Ekiti State emerged as one of the three states in Nigeria that qualified for the magnificent project, which is a World Bank assisted project that his administration keyed into for the benefit of his people.

Fayemi Commissions Road Projects in Ekiti State

Source: TribuneIn the last three weeks, Ekiti State governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi and his team have been occupied with the celebration of the third year anniversary of his second term in the state. To commemorate the anniversary, a lot of activities were lined up. But as the activities continued, it was obvious that the masses are the ultimate winners, considering the number of projects that have been completed under the administration, which touch on the lives of common men on the street of the state.Perhaps what better reflected the mood of the people towards the achievement of the governor was the tumultuous crowd, comprising traditional rulers, market women, artisans and other members of the public that assembled in Ijan, Oye and Aramoko Ekiti on Wednesday, October 13 to witness the commissioning of the state roads constructed by the governor in the last three years. The roads are; the Ilupeju-Ire-Igbemo- Ijan road, Oye-Isan- Ikun Dairy Farm Road, Aramoko- Erijiyan road, Agbado-Ode-Isinbode Road and Ibuji-Igbaraodo-Ilawe- Ado Ekiti road.

Fayemi Flags up road projects in Ekiti state

Source: Ekiti State WebsiteGovernor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, on Monday, flagged off the construction of four major roads linking seven local government areas of the State.The roads are Agbado-Ode-Isinbode- Omuo road linking Aiyekire and Ekiti East local government areas; Ilupeju- Ire- Ijan-Igbemo road linking Oye, Aiyekire and Irepodun-Ifelodun local government areas; Oye-Ikun-Otun-Dairy farm road which links Oye, Ilejemeje and Moba council areas, and Aramoko-Erijiyan-Ikogosi road in Ekiti West local government area.Flagging off the construction works, the governor reiterated the commitment of his administration to meeting the aspiration of the people for infrastructure. He also challenged the people on their civic obligations, including tax payment.Dr. Fayemi who was hailed by the people for embarking on the road projects assured that no part of the State will be left out in terms of infrastructure development.He said his government has continued to pursue lofty goals in spite of daunting financial challenges.On Oye-Ikun-Otun-Dairy farm road, Dr. Fayemi said the rehabilitation work would not only provide job opportunities for engineers, artisans, and casual workers among others but would also boost the operations of Ikun Dairy farm which was recently taken over by Promasidor Nigeria Ltd.He explained that the project was commenced in 2011 with its scope on selected sections but the new scope of work involved “total asphalt overlay from Oye to Ikun, with an extension to Ikun Dairy Farm up to Ekiti State boundary with Kwara State”.

Beyond the construction of the road linking Aramoko, Erinjiyan and Ikogosi, the people expressed their joy over the restoration of electricity in Ikogosi, Ipole-Iloro and Erijiyan communities that had been in darkness for four years.

2021: Fayemi earmarks N1.4 billion for Amotekun in Ekiti

In what could be described as a deliberate attempt in ensuring effective security of lives and property in Ekiti State, Governor Kayode Fayemi has earmarked a sum of N1.4 billion for the State Security Network Agency codenamed Amotekun Corps in the 2021 fiscal year.The Governor had on December 23, 2020, assented to the budgetary provision christened “Budget of Recovery and Economic Restoration,” comprising N58.4 billion recurrent and N51.6 billion capital expenditures.Source: Nigerian Tribune
