A Permanent Headquarters Will Be Built For The State’s Water Corporation

Governor Fayemi commissioned the new headquarter complex of the Ekiti State Water Corporation.

In October 2021, Fayemi commissioned the new headquarter complex of the Ekiti State Water Corporation (later renamed Ekiti State Water and Sewerage Company Limited).

Speaking at the commissioning, Fayemi described it as "an auspicious one as we have all been waiting for this glorious day for a while. I can tell you boldly today that the waiting days are over". He noted that the headquarters project was part of the holistic intervention in the water sector that commenced during his first tenure (2010-2014).

The new headquarters is located on Waterworks Road, Ajilosun Street, Ado-Ekiti. Its completion coincided with the broader water sector reform that included the rehabilitation of Ero, Egbe, and Ureje dams, the installation of 251km of pipeline network, and the establishment of the Ekiti State Water and Sewerage Company Limited to replace the former corporation.

The project was supported by the World Bank under the Third National Urban Water Sector Reform Project, with a total credit facility of $50 million USD and counterpart funding of N986.7 million from Ekiti State.
