Aramoko-Erijiyan Road gets a Facelift

Governor Fayemi has completed the reconstruction of the Aramoko-Erijiyan-Ikogosi road. The project was flagged off in January 2020, with the governor explaining that the contract had been originally awarded during his first term but was abandoned by the previous administration, forcing a re-award to the original contractors

By July 2020, the 13km road was confirmed among projects scheduled for completion between December 2020 and June 2021. In October 2021, during the third-anniversary celebrations of his second term, Fayemi commissioned the completed Aramoko-Erijiyan road. The road was again scheduled for commissioning by the Governors of Sokoto, Kebbi, and Jigawa States in November 2021, alongside other major infrastructure projects. The road is among the key projects delivered by the administration with the commissioning ceremony attracting crowd, comprising traditional rulers, market women, artisans and other members of the public that assembled in Aramoko.

The road's completion was particularly significant for tourism development, as it provides smooth access to the Ikogosi Warm Spring resort, a major tourist attraction in Ekiti State. Improved road infrastructure is expected to boost visitor numbers and support the state's efforts to diversify its economy beyond civil service and agriculture.
