Introduce Ekiti Values Orientation Curriculum In All Primary And Secondary Classes

Our Assessment

This promise is rated Completed. Governor Fayemi's administration fulfilled its commitment to introduce Ekiti values orientation curriculum in all primary and secondary classes. The introduction of the Ekiti Values Orientation into the curriculum was fulfilled less than two years from the original promise. This would ensure that school children understand the values, history and the vision of the state.

Why It Matters

The initiative matters because it aims to restore Ekiti’s eroded virtues, integrity, hard work, and respect by institutionalizing them in school curricula. Governor Fayemi noted that this reorientation is crucial to reclaiming the state’s lost values and rebuilding the moral fabric of society for future generations.

Fayemi commissions the Ekiti Values Education Curriculum

The Fayemi administration fulfilled this promise by launching the Ekiti Values Education Curriculum and Textbooks for all primary and secondary schools in October 2021. The government made it a compulsory subject in public schools to institutionalize sound ethical principles. Furthermore, History, a key component of the values drive, was reintroduced into primary schools to promote patriotism and cultural heritage
